So, my nerd brain has been thinking. What does 600,000 jobs translate to in terms of total cost?
Let's low ball some figures and see what we come up with....
If they make $10 an hour, we are up to $6,000,000 per hour. If they work 30 hour weeks (some may not be fulltime), that brings us up to $180,000,000 per week. In a year, we have a number just below $10 billion dollars. This doesn't take into effect the infrastructure built around it or the committees and subcommittees that will need to be formed to implement it. Let's not forget a "Jobs Stimulus Czar" (no doubt, a banker).
Now, these jobs will be road works jobs, environmental, etc., so these will not be manufacturing jobs where we could actually earn the money back.
