Recovery's Missing Ingredient: New Jobs
I really believe that excess money, if you have any, should be set aside and/or spent on things you are absolutely going to need in the future. The days of credit card excess are over!
What will you need, for sure....?
Food
Water
Clothing
Shelter - you will need to live someplace but when you factor in everything you need to maintain a house, it's probably a better deal to just rent a house! You get the same benefit as ownership with a whole lot less expense and a landlord that has to make the repairs.
I would also start looking at purchasing products that will help you in emergencies. We're going to list all of that here over the next few days, weeks, months and, possibly, years. I will need some input at times if anyone has ideas...and if anyone would like to write a guest blog post about overcoming these times (could range from the spiritual to the financial), that would be great.
In the meantime, here is a very popular Survival blog. Now, I'm not telling everyone to go out and hide in the woods...but what I am saying is that a little bit of preventative knowledge goes a long way. Many people will retort, We Should Just Trust The Lord. However, God gave you a brain. Many people who thought they were exercising faith and 'revelation' from God have found themselves on the raw end of the foreclosure process. We should trust the Lord. We should also take advantage of the brains he gave us, too.
Check out this blog...sometimes it is good, sometimes not so great...but a decent primer, nonetheless:
