Joseph Prince: Right Believing Produces Right Living

Luke 19:8
8Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”



Zacchaeus was a tax collector. He was despised because he was a deceitful man, cheating people of their money and resorting to false accusations to get what he wanted.

One day, Jesus visited him. The Bible makes no mention of Jesus rebuking him for his dishonest lifestyle the whole time they were together. Instead, Jesus showed him grace and honor by spending time with him. Before long, Zacchaeus stood up and declared to Jesus that he would restore fourfold to anyone he had taken from illegally, and would even give half of his goods to the poor.

A moment with Jesus completely changed Zacchaeus’ heart. A moment with grace in person — without accusations, condemnation or judgment — caused such an inward transformation that in a short time, Zacchaeus was doing outwardly what was right and in a measure no man would have expected of him!

Many people want to live right. Their concern with right living makes them focus on themselves and the things they struggle with. But it is right believing that produces right living. If you are trying to break free from an addiction that has bound you for many years, believe that Jesus loves you so much that at the cross, He paid the price for you to be completely free from any addiction. Believe that by His stripes you are healed and delivered.

One member in our church had a smoking addiction. But each time he lit up a cigarette, he would believe that God was not judging or condemning him, and that he was still the righteousness of God in Christ. One day, he woke up impressed by the Spirit that that day would mark the start of a smoke-free life. Expecting to be assaulted by the usual cravings to smoke, he prayed this throughout the day: “Thank You, Jesus, for by Your stripes I am healed.” Before he knew it, the day passed without him lighting up or suffering any withdrawal pangs! And since then, he has been totally free of this addiction.

Today, if you want to experience right living, find out what Christ has done for you and what you have in Him — and believe it!

China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S.

The calls for broad retaliation over the planned U.S. weapons sales to the disputed island came from officers at China's National Defence University and Academy of Military Sciences, interviewed by Outlook Weekly, a Chinese-language magazine published by the official Xinhua news agency.

The interviews with Major Generals Zhu Chenghu and Luo Yuan and Senior Colonel Ke Chunqiao appeared in the issue published on Monday.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) plays no role in setting policy for China's foreign exchange holdings. Officials in charge of that area have given no sign of any moves to sell U.S. Treasury bonds over the weapons sales, a move that could alarm markets and damage the value of China's own holdings.

While far from representing fixed government policy, the open demands for retaliation by the PLA officers underscored the domestic pressures on Beijing to deliver on its threats to punish the Obama administration over the arms sales.

One night in June 2001, Brian Patrick Regan drove out to Pocahontas State Park in Virginia and walked through the muggy darkness into the woods.

The former Air Force sergeant wore a backpack on his bearish 6′5″ frame; a sawed-off shovel handle stuck out of the top as he made his way along soft creek beds, avoiding hiking trails. Inside the pack was a night-vision monocle and a pile of classified material he had stolen from his longtime employer, the National Reconnaissance Office — the US agency that manages the nation’s spy satellites.

After he had walked about 10 minutes, Regan stopped and surveyed the tall oaks and maples. He lowered his pack, pulled out the shovel, and laid a plastic sheet on the ground. Then he began to scoop out a series of holes, carefully piling the dirt on the sheet so as to leave behind no sign of the dig. From his backpack he grabbed a stack of packages wrapped in garbage bags and placed one in each hole. The bags were stuffed with thousands of documents containing information about Libyan missile sites, Iraqi air defenses, and US spying operations in China and Iran. The material would have revealed exactly what the US knew about those countries. It was, Regan thought, the kind of information that could start a war.

Obama Announces Recovery Today, Where Is The Spending Coming From?

In our analysis Asylum Markets of the post FIRE Economy – Part II: Breaking the Rules we discovered that Personal Consumption Expenditures, the non-government expenditure portion of GDP, had by the end of 2009 recovered to pre-Great Recession levels. How can this be when the recession cost millions their jobs, consumer credit contracted for the first time on record and is still contracting, and depressing signs of consumer retrenchment line the main streets and blights the malls of every town and city in the U.S. with thousands of closed down and boarded up retail stores?

If not from cash income earned on the job or credit tapped from credit card and other revolving credit sources, where is the money coming from to finance the consumer economy recovery? What is “Personal Consumption Expenditures” anyway?

A seemingly simple and innocent question about personal expenditures once again leads us to unexpected places, in this case through the bowels of the U.S. National Income and Product Accounts (NIPA) and Fed Flow of Funds data. There we discovered that approximately half of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) measure appears to have little to do with consumers spending money on dinners and iPods in the Productive Economy and everything to do with paying interest on mortgages, bank fees, and other economic rents in the FIRE Economy. In the process, we discover just why the economy feels as bad as it does even though the PCE numbers present an economy on a rapid recovery path, and why the latest GDP report is utter nonsense.

Heroes Unnamed By Bruce Collins

It is highly likely that we will not be able to completely separate the sheep from the goats or the heroes from the villians on this Earth due to the massive amounts of misinformation that are, in part, perpetrated by the Media. There have been many, however, who have come forward in their attempts to defend their fellow man from the corruption that infects those in power.

We used to call politicians public servants. We wouldn't dare call them that now. They no longer serve the people, they control the people. Few citizens want to think for themselves, they would prefer that those 'authorities' (once called public servants) would make the decisions for them.

Frank Murphy was appointed by President Franklin Roosevelt as Attorney General in 1938. Later, he rose to the lofty, and well respected, position of Supreme Court Justice. Indeed, he was a political insider.

Meeting with Congressman Martin Dies, Murphy poured his emotions out.

"We're doomed! The United States is doomed! The Communists have control completely. They've got control over Roosevelt and his wife as well." (American Opinion, February 1971, page 14)
