Pictured: Louis T. McFadden, 1876-1936
Hearing from Ralph Epperson last night talk about Warren G. Harding dying from food poisoning made me recall the life of Louis T. McFadden. McFadden had been fighting the Federal Reserve and had given some blistering speeches against the bankers in the mid-1930s.
Lo and behold, he also attended a political banquet in Washington (what is it with the food there???) and was also the only recipient of food poisoning that evening.
Oh yeah...he also had been shot at in an assassination attempt but I'm sure that was unrelated... (not)
