Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google is an attendee of Bilderberg and he is a member of the Trilateral Commission,etc. I worked at Novell when Schmidt was the CEO back in the 90's. I remember how well connected he was, it was not a rare occasion for Al Gore, Prince Philip and Bill Clinton to visit the facilities (I stood not more than 25 feet from Prince Philip). He was an insider even back then.

Second Thought(Updated Post): This is a prime example of how Media/Corporate/ Political and Academia work together. Academia (science) brought forth the idea.... Media hyped it (History Channel)... and now Corporate (Google) reinforces it. They all work together to acheive desired state.
