One in five homeowners with mortgages underwater
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Nearly one in five U.S. mortgage borrowers owe more to lenders than their homes are worth, and the rate may soon approach one in four as housing prices fall and the economy weakens, a report on Friday shows.
About 7.63 million properties, or 18 percent, had negative equity in September, and another 2.1 million will follow if home prices fall another 5 percent, according to a report by First American CoreLogic.
The data, covering 43 states and Washington, D.C., includes borrowers nationwide, even those who took out mortgages before housing prices began to soar early this decade.
Seven hard-hit states -- Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Ohio -- had 64 percent of all "underwater" borrowers, but just 41 percent of U.S. mortgages.
"This is very much a regional problem, and people tend to forget that," said David Wyss, chief economist at Standard & Poor's, who expects home prices nationwide to fall another 10 percent before bottoming late next year.
"Most of the country is not in bad shape," he continued. "Things seem to be stabilizing in Michigan, but the big bubble states -- Florida, California, Arizona and Nevada -- are still very overpriced."
About 68 percent of U.S. adults own their own homes, and about two-thirds of them have mortgages.
JPMorgan Chase & Co, one of the biggest mortgage lenders, on Friday offered to modify $70 billion of mortgages to keep a potential 400,000 homeowners out of foreclosure. Bank of America Corp, which bought Countrywide Financial Corp in July, also has a large loan modification program.
HOME PRICES, ECONOMY UNDER PRESSURE
U.S. home prices fell a record 16.6 percent in August from a year earlier, with declines in all 20 major metropolitan areas measured by the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices.
Foreclosure filings rose 71 percent in the third quarter to a record 765,558, according to RealtyTrac.
Meanwhile, the Commerce Department said gross domestic product fell at a 0.3 percent rate in the third quarter. Some experts expect the worst U.S. recession since the early 1980s.
Yet despite a series of expensive government programs to spur lending, mortgage rates are rising, making it tougher to borrow or refinance. The rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage jumped this week to 6.46 percent from 6.04 percent a week earlier, Freddie Mac said.
Meanwhile, borrowing costs on hundreds of thousands of adjustable-rate mortgages are expected to reset higher in the coming months. The problem may be particularly serious for borrowers with rates tied to the London Interbank Offered Rate, or Libor, which is abnormally high relative to benchmark U.S. rates.
Last week, Wachovia Corp said borrowers with its "Pick-a-Pay" ARMs and living in or near Stockton and Merced, California, owed at least 55 percent more on their mortgages, on average, than their homes were worth. Wells Fargo & Co is buying Wachovia.

First American CoreLogic, an affiliate of title insurance and real estate services company First American Corp, said states with large numbers of homes with negative equity either had rapid price appreciation, many homes bought with subprime mortgages or as speculative investments, steep manufacturing declines, or a combination.
Nevada was hardest hit, where mortgage borrowers on average owed 89 percent of what their homes were worth, and 48 percent had negative equity. Michigan was second, with an 85 percent loan-to-value ratio and 39 percent of borrowers underwater.
New York fared best, with an average 48 percent loan-to-value ratio and just 4.4 percent of mortgage borrowers with negative equity.
But Wyss said this could change as financial market upheaval transforms Wall Street. This month, New York City Comptroller William Thompson estimated that the city alone might lose 165,000 jobs over two years.
"We're going to see home prices coming down pretty significantly in New York," Wyss said. "A lot of people are losing jobs, and won't be getting their usual bonuses, and that leaves less money for housing."

MISHAWAKA — Despite a tough economy, consumers are spending more money on Halloween this year. From costumes and candy to haunted houses — the holiday can get expensive, but local business owners who invested a lot of money in the holiday say it's paying off.

According to the National Retail Federation, consumers are celebrating to forget the stressful parts of their life like high gas prices, the slumping economy and an uncertain stock market.
As the country spirals toward economic recession, few consumers are holding back for Halloween.
"When people become depressed or down or frustrated they spend more money to feel better," said St. Joseph County Skream Park developer Rick Singleton.
Thousands of people are paying up to $30 to go through the new Skream Park on McKinley Highway and Capital Avenue. Costumes at Fun F/X in Mishawaka start at $10.
"I guess I'm surprised that it's so strong as it is," said Fun F/X owner Victor Cao. "A lot of people don't care about the prices."
Cao opened Fun F/X 19 years ago. He says this year, people are waiting until the last minute to buy costumes, but his profits are higher than ever.
That's not to say the past few months have been a breeze for Cao. He started buying his inventory for Halloween last December.
"Even in the early part of the year we had to determine 'OK, are gas prices going to affect it? Is the economy going to affect it?
Some customers say they are spending less this year.
"I told them when we walked in I was only going to spend $20," said Donna Fredericks.
Others say they're not.
"[I'm] not going to let it get in the way," said Cindy Szul. "We want to go out and have a great time."
Regardless, the bottom line for local Halloween stores and haunted houses is well into the black.
"There's always been talk that Halloween is somewhat recession- proof because people still like to have a good time," said Cao.
Singleton says he's expecting several thousand people this weekend.
A Nielson report says Americans are expected to spend $1.9 billion on Halloween candy this year. But looking ahead to the holiday season, the National Retail Federation says many shoppers will be spending less on gifts this year.
Ouija Board: devil's iPhone
With Halloween in a few days, a lot of folks out there will be getting together for a little harmless fun (a.k.a. scaring the crap out of your friends). Most of the time, this includes haunted houses and watching Halloween. But occasionally, for those who want to push the envelope (or the planchette), out comes the Ouija board.
Not me. Growing up, I was never allowed to have a spirit board. Although the most common variety was available from Parker Brothers on Wal-Mart shelves, the game was banned from my house.
According to family lore, my mother and aunts used to dabble in divination. (This was a usual pastime in the Ozarks, even amongst Baptists.) One of the things they did was to hold séances in which they would cause a table to levitate. Eventually, they even had a Parker Brothers William Fuld Ouija Board. That changed when my aunt broke the cardinal rule and made the spirits mad. Immediately, at least according to my mom, the board spelled out the words: KILL YOU.
When that happened, my grandma decided that it was time to burn the board. So, she stuffed it into a burn barrel with the kitchen trash and lit it on fire. Then, so the story goes, the burning pile of trash exploded.

FLASHBACK: Obama and the "Rezko Affair"
Barack Obama and Joann Larkins live less than a mile apart in Chicago's predominantly black South Side, but they inhabit very different worlds.
What connects her squalid flat and his colonnaded mansion is Antoin "Tony" Rezko, the former Obama donor and friend, who goes on trial for corruption next month - and was denounced as a "slum landlord" by Hillary Clinton in a dramatic and bitter exchange during last week's Democratic presidential debate.
Mr Obama’s past ties to the Syrian-born property developer, a well-known figure in Chicago politics for his financial largesse, have prompted new questions about the sound political judgement and clean ethics that he touts in his run for the White House.
The charges against Mr Rezko include one that he donated $10,000 (£5,050) to an unnamed political candidate from kickbacks allegedly taken from state contracts. The recipient is reported by Chicago media to have been an unknowing Mr Obama.
Separately, in 2005, Mr Obama, 46, struck a property deal with Mr Rezko's wife, Rita, despite the fact that her husband was already under criminal investigation. Mrs Rezko bought an empty plot next to the Obamas' $1.65 million home in the affluent enclave of Hyde Park, and later sold the Obamas some of the land so that they could enlarge their plot - a deal that the Illinois senator has since admitted was "bone-headed".
Mrs Larkins, 51, lives just seven city blocks away, in a district where posters advertise "dirt cheap properties" and "foreclosure advice". She moved there almost a decade ago, taking a subsidised apartment with her 20-year-old daughter and one-year-old grandson in a building that had fallen into neglect when run by Mr Rezko.
The family boiled water on the stove and draped plastic sheeting across the windows in an effort to keep warm during the city's bitter winters, as the heating was not working. Rubbish piled up uncollected and repeated requests for basic repairs were ignored.
"It was a terrible place to live: there were a lot of drug dealers and people fighting and getting shot," Mrs Larkins, a widow who receives invalidity benefit, told The Sunday Telegraph.
"The owners never took any interest in the place; they just wanted the rent money. We had to call the city just to get the garbage collected."
The 44-apartment complex was one of 30 low-income housing projects run by Mr Rezko and his partners with funds from the city during the 1990s. By early this decade, many were boarded up as bills and mortgage payments went unpaid, but Mr Rezko moved into the fast-food business, while tenants like the Larkins struggled with the legacy of his poor management.
Mr Rezko was also one of the first to spot the skills of Mr Obama, offering the then Harvard law graduate a job in 1991 and becoming an early financial supporter of the new state legislator, whose inner-city constituency included 11 of his housing projects.
Although Mr Obama makes much of his roots as a community activist in Chicago's poorest districts, he has said he had "no inkling" that there were problems with Mr Rezko's operations. But the signs should have been easy to spot, according to John Bartlett, of the Chicago-based Metropolitan Tenants' Association.
"The problems with Rezko were far from hidden. They were so bad that the city has had to take him to court. Anyone who wanted to look into Rezko's activities could have learned about them," he said.
Mr Obama has recently said that he "wasn't particularly knowledgeable" about Mr Rezko's activities. Asked if he should have investigated his donor's businesses, Bill Burton, Mr Obama's spokesman, said: "The senator has a long record of successfully fighting to reform ethics and diminish the role of money in politics." The reality of US politics is that even at state level, few politicians have the resources to check their donors' backgrounds thoroughly. But when candidates run for the nation's highest office, they find their finances trawled over by the media and their rivals' researchers.
Mr Obama has recently given to charity about $85,000 in donations from Mr Rezko and his associates, as he attempts to distance himself from his old friend and supporter. But the relationship will come under renewed scrutiny when Mr Rezko's trial starts on February 25.
There has been no suggestion of any wrongdoing in Mr Obama's ties to Mr Rezko. The senator has attempted to head off criticism by admitting that he failed to spot the "red flags" in pursuing a property deal that raised perceptions of possible impropriety at a time when other Illinois politicians were already turning their backs on Mr Rezko.
"The senator clearly showed a lack of judgment in continuing the relationship, although that does not necessarily mean a pattern of lack of judgment," said Cindi Canary, the director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.
Jay Stewart, who runs the Better Government Association of Chicago, also expressed surprise at the property deal, saying: "Alarm bells should have been ringing. Everyone knew that Rezko was under investigation and Senator Obama should have expected this scrutiny. The mission is always to follow the money."
On the snowy streets of south Chicago last week, there was no escaping the evidence of the embarrassing connections: next to the Obamas' Secret Service-guarded home, a large "For Sale" sign now stands on the remaining plot of land owned by the cash-strapped Rezkos.
Rezko affair rattles skeletons in Clintons' closet
Just three days after Hillary Clinton taunted Barack Obama with taking money from Tony Rezko, the indicted businessman, a photograph of him standing between the former First Lady and her husband Bill appeared on the Drudge Report website.
Mrs Clinton insisted she had no memory of the encounter, which may have occurred when Mr Rezko attended a Democratic fund-raiser. But at a time when Mrs Clinton was trying to score points, it was a reminder that she and her husband have been dogged by financial questions for decades.
During the current campaign, Mrs Clinton has returned $850,000 (£429,000) in contributions linked to a convicted fraudster, Norman Hsu. Controversies during her husband's presidency included giving stays in the White House's "Lincoln bedroom" to donors, and a pardon for Marc Rich, a financier who fled abroad from fraud charges. His wife was a supporter.
The Clintons were hounded for years by a criminal investigation into their Whitewater land investment in Arkansas, although they were never charged. And the day after Mrs Clinton attacked Mr Obama's legal work on Rezko-related business, Mr Clinton was said to be preparing to sever ties with the investment firm of his friend Ron Burkle.

But there's an even darker side to Hinn and his organization. In 1998, two members of his inner circle died of heroin overdoses. In 1999, after one of his many vows of reform, he fired several board members and hired an ex-cop named Mario C. Licciardello to do an internal investigation of his ministry. Licciardello was the brother of Carman, who is sort of the Engelbert Humperdinck of Christian singers, so many think Hinn considered him "safe." But Licciardello did such a good job—taking hundreds of depositions and getting to the bottom of the heroin use—that Hinn then sued him. While Licciardello was still his head of security, the ministry filed a lawsuit demanding that all his files be turned over and sealed, because their public release could result in the end of the ministry. Licciardello was a police investigator with 25 years of experience, and he felt like his whole career was being smeared, so he fought back with his own lawyers. His counsel continually tried to take Hinn's deposition, but Hinn fought him at every step. The judge, however, ruled against him and said that, if Hinn intended to enjoin Licciardello, he would have to make himself available for questioning.
On the very day that Hinn was supposed to give his deposition in the case, Licciardello had a heart attack and died. The Hinn organization made an out-of-court settlement with Licciardello's widow, which included sealing the court papers.

I asked him what the rationale was to drop oil prices that low. His answer was to collapse the Middle East so that they would join the 'new world order.'

With the price of oil plummeting on world markets, the Iranian government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is confronting a financial crisis that will inevitably bring it into sharp conflict with substantial sections of the population.
The collapse in oil prices from a high of $US147 a barrel in July to less than $65 in trading mid-week is blowing a massive hole in the state budget, 50 percent of which is derived from oil revenues. Oil prices have continued to fall despite an agreement on October 24 by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to slash production by 1.5 million barrels.
The projected Iranian budget of $307 billion for the year to March 2009 will have to be financed by a deficit. Estimates of how much the Iranian state will have to borrow range from $7 billion to as high as $50 billion.
Now, I know the typical American response is, "Yeah, those guys deserve it!"
My response:
1. If this price is manipulated, how much satisfaction do we get from puppet masters who pull strings so that innocent citizens in Iran starve?
2. If the purpose of this manipulation is to shore up the New World Order, how much satisfaction is there to be derived from failure in the Middle East?

Porsche in $20bn 'sting'

The Sports car giant Porsche has pulled off one of the greatest share killings of all time in a coup that has left some of the world's largest hedge funds nursing combined losses that could total $20bn (£12.6bn).
The vast sum was won and lost in bets on the share price of Volkswagen (Moderator Note: Hence, the ever so witty title). While Porsche has been building a secret 74 per cent stake in its rival, the hedge funds have been betting that the shares will fall. The shares soared by 400 per cent in two days, leaving Porsche with a huge profit and the hedge funds – some of which are based in London – with losses that could drive them into bankruptcy.
City traders were stunned by the audacity of Porsche's move, although there is no suggestion that it broke German law or trading regulations.
The sudden rise in Volkswagen's share price – from about €200 to more than €900 – was triggered by the announcement at the weekend of Porsche's share-buying. The hedge funds had short-sold the shares – in effect a bet that they would fall – and so were left huge losses by the rally.
The Volkswagen debacle is the latest blow for hedge funds. In the boom years, these investors made dramatic returns – often on behalf of pension funds – by taking huge bets on a variety of financial instruments. But they have been hit hard by the credit crunch, with markets moving against them and banks increasingly unwilling to lend them money. Analysts at Morgan Stanley, the investment bank, last week estimated the global hedge fund industry could lose as much as $500bn in the value of funds under management in the second half of this year, with Europe worst-hit because of its reliance on short-selling.
They thought they were on to a sure thing with Volkswagen, given the crisis in the global automotive industry. Last week, VW's shares tumbled by a third in two days, and hedge funds piled into short positions, expecting it to be the start of a longer-term collapse in the share price.
"Last week when VW came down 50 per cent some people thought it was going to crash," said one market participant. "Some funds just said, 'it'll go all the way now it has broken through so let's get in (with a short position).'"
But they had not counted on Porsche's dramatic intervention. The maker of the iconic 911 and other sports cars had last year built up a 35 per cent stake in VW, but said at the time it had no plan to buy a majority of the maker of Golf hatchbacks.
Then in March this year Porsche's supervisory board gave the go-ahead to raise its VW voting stake to more than 50 per cent and thus make the world's third-largest car maker its subsidiary. But the company denied reports that it was interested in more control, saying this "overlooks the realities in VW's shareholder structure," adding the probability of gaining control of 75 per cent was "extremely low". Hence the hedge funds' belief that VW shares would fall still further – and the stunned reaction to Sunday's announcement that Porsche controlled 74 per cent of VW's shares.
The secretive nature of Porsche's share buying has raised eyebrows, but the authorities in Germany seem untroubled by the car-maker's tactics.
German regulators said yesterday they were examining trades in VW shares, but not the role of Porsche.
"First of all we will check trades in shares of VW to find any points that refer to possible market manipulation or insider trading. We are looking at the whole process," said a spokeswoman for BaFin, Germany's financial markets regulator. "That is the first step. If we find points that might look like market manipulation or insider trading then we will launch a formal investigation."
"We vehemently reject the accusation of share-price manipulation," a spokesman for Porsche told Reuters, adding that the market seemed to have mixed up cause with effect. He said: "The ones responsible are those that speculated with huge sums of money on a falling Volkswagen share price."
Porsche, with Wendelin Wiedeking at the helm, added that it would push for control of the company.
The hedge fund industry has seen huge growth over the past few years, with many ambitious young entrepreneurs, including Nathan Rothschild, opting to enter the sector. It also poached many senior investment bankers and private equity executives, attracted by the high returns and pay, and relative freedom of working for what are normally small firms.
Hedge funds thought they could outperform traditional investors by using increasingly exotic ways of investing their money. They also presented themselves as slight rebels, different from the staid financial establishment, often opting to set themselves up in Mayfair, west London, rather than the City or Canary Wharf. There will be those in Germany who will relish the discomfort of the hedge funds. In 2004, a German politician, Franz Muenterfering, described private equity firms and hedge funds as "locusts".

Way For A New Order Of The Ages
We have noted before some instances of presidential language that seemed designed to convey secret messages to select members of his audience. Yet the practice of the “double coding” word craft as a strategy for secretly appealing to particular people is not limited to George Bush. When Rep. Nancy Pelosi on January 4, 2007 assumed her roll as speaker of the House at the opening of the 110th Congress, she stated that the founding fathers were so confident in “the America they were advancing, they put on the seal, the great seal of the United States, ‘novus ordo seclorum’—a new order for the centuries.”
The new speaker did not go into detail as to why the phrase “Novus Ordo Seclorum” was considered important dialectic during this momentous changeover of the control of congress. Nor did she dare to add why “Novus Ordo Seclorum” exists beneath the unfinished pyramid and the All Seeing Eye (or Eye of Horus) in the Great Seal of the United States. Her reference may have been a simple coincidence, but the origins of the motto “Novus Ordo Seclorum” and the use of it in this historic speech was interesting when cast against recent world events.
The term “Novus Ordo Seclorum” (A New Order of the Ages) was adapted by Charles Thomson in 1782 when designing the Great Seal of the United States. According to the official record, Thomson created the phrase from inspiration he found in a line in Virgil’s Eclogue IV: "Magnus ab integro seclorum nascitur ordo" [Virgil's Eclogue IV (line 5)], the interpretation of the original Latin being, “and the majestic roll of circling centuries begins anew.”
Ironically, Christians since the middle ages have held that the Cumaean Sibyl of Virgil’s Ecologue IV prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ and that it was this arrival of the Savior that gave rise to “the majestic roll of circling centuries begins anew,” or New Order of the Ages. Virgil himself was believed to be a prophet in this regard, and that is why Dante Alighieri selected him as his guide through the underworld in The Divine Comedy. The Cumaean Sibyl is also prominently featured alongside the Old Testament prophets in Michelangelo’s paintings in the Sistine Chapel. Some say this fact played a role in Thomson’s “inspiration” for “Novus Ordo Seclorum” taken from Virgil’s Ecologue IV. Yet upon reading Virgil’s text, the divine son that comes of the Sibyl’s prophecy is a savior unknown to Biblical theology. “He” is to be spawned of “a new breed of men sent down from heaven” who receive “the life of gods, and see Heroes with gods commingling.” According to the Sibyl’s prediction, this “messiah” would be the son of Jupiter and come when the Roman god Saturn returned to reign over the earth in a new golden age (the Novus Ordo Seclorum), when Apollo rises again through mystical “life” power given to him from the gods.
From the beginning of the poem we read[1]:
“Now the last age by Cumae's Sibyl sung Has come and gone, and the majestic roll Of circling centuries begins anew: Justice returns, returns old Saturn's reign, With a new breed of men sent down from heaven. Only do thou, at the boy's birth in whom The iron shall cease, the golden race arise, Befriend him, chaste Lucina; 'tis thine own Apollo reigns. …
“He shall receive the life of gods, and see Heroes with gods commingling, and himself Be seen of them, and with his father's worth Reign o'er a world…
“Assume thy greatness, for the time draws nigh, Dear child of gods, great progeny of Jove! See how it totters- the world's orbed might, Earth, and wide ocean, and the vault profound, All, see, enraptured of the coming time! Ah! might such length of days to me be given, And breath suffice me to rehearse thy deeds, Nor Thracian Orpheus should out-sing me then, Nor Linus, though his mother this, and that His sire should aid- Orpheus Calliope, And Linus fair Apollo. According to the Sibyl, the New Order of the Ages occurs when a special “son” is born on earth, a new messiah who comes of “a new breed of men sent down from heaven” when “heroes” and “gods” are blended together. This sounds eerily similar to what the Watchers did during the creation of Nephilim, to what scientists are doing this century through the creation of transgenic human-animal chimeras, and to what the Bible actually describes as the Antichrist being the “son” of perdition” (2 Th 2:3, Apoleia, from which we make Apollyon, the demon destroyer). Note the similarity of the names Apollo and Apollyon.
Has the Novus Ordo Seclorum prophecy of a reincarnated pagan god leading to a New World Order been fulfilled? Is this a prognostication of a future time? What about recent references by congressmen and President’s to government via supernatural influence? Are these things connected?
Biblical demonologists believe in the near future a man of superior intelligence, wit, charm, and diplomacy will emerge on the world scene as a savior. He will seemingly possess a transcendent wisdom that enables him to solve problems and offer solutions to many of today’s most perplexing issues. His popularity will be widespread, and his fans will include young and old, religious and non-religious, male and female. Talk show hosts will interview his colleagues, news anchors will cover his movements, scholars will applaud his uncanny ability at resolving what has escaped the rest of us, and the poor will bow down at his table. He will, in all human respects, appeal to the best idea of society. But his profound comprehension and irresistible presence will be the result of an invisible network of thousands of years of collective knowledge. He will represent the embodiment of a very old super-intellegent spirit. As Jesus Christ was the "seed of the woman" (Gen. 3:15), he will be the "seed of the serpent." Though his arrival in the form of a man was foretold by numerous Scriptures, the broad masses will not recognize him for what he is: paganism’s ultimate incarnation—the "beast" of Revelation 13:1.
It’s been assumed for centuries that prerequisite for the coming of Antichrist will be a "revived" world order—an umbrella under which national boundaries dissolve, and ethnic groups, ideologies, religions, and economics from around the world, orchestrate a single and dominant sovereignty. At the head of the utopian administration, a single personality will surface. He will appear to be a man of distinguished character, but will ultimately become "a king of fierce countenance" (Dan. 8:23). With imperious decree he will facilitate a one-world government, a universal religion, and global socialism. Those who refuse his New World Order will inevitably be imprisoned or destroyed until at last he exalts himself "above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he, as God, sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" (2 Thess. 2:4).
For many years the idea of such an Orwellian society where one-world government oversees the smallest details of our lives and where human liberties are abandoned was considered anathema. The concept that rugged individualism could be sacrificed for an anesthetized universal harmony was repudiated by America’s greatest minds.
Then, in the 1970’s, things began to change.
Following a call by Nelson Rockefeller for the creation of a "new world order,"[2] presidential candidate Jimmy Carter campaigned, saying, "We must replace balance of power politics with world order politics."[3] Evidently he struck a chord with world leaders. During the first war in Iraq, President George Herbert Walker Bush continued the one-world dirge by announcing over national television that, "a New World Order" had arrived.
Following the initial broadcast, President Bush addressed the Congress and made the additional comment:
“What is at stake is more than one small country [Kuwait], it is a big idea—a new world order, where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause to achieve the universal aspirations of mankind: peace and security, freedom, and the rule of law. Such is a world worthy of our struggle, and worthy of our children’s future!”[4]
Ever since the President’s astonishing newscast, a parade of political and religious leaders have discharged a profusion of coded language aimed at implementing the goals of the New World Order. Concurrent with the political aspects of the New World Order is the syncretistic and spiritual goals of occult society. The blending of politics and spirituality harmonizes perfectly with the ideas of an end-time marriage of governmental policy and religious creed as was prophesied in the Bible. To that end the tools necessary for paganism’s ultimate incarnation—the god-king of the Great Tribulation (Satan in flesh)—are in place. The worship of the "gods" has been popularized through modern mysticism. The dominionist agenda of governing by "divine representation" through theocratic-pacifism is being constructed. Biotechnology has given rise to transhumanist values seeking to redesign what it means to be human, and the earth’s masses stand at the brink of a decisive moment in time.
At the core of the emerging conspiracy a leader of indescribable brutality is scheduled to appear. He will make the combined depravities of Antiochus Epiphenes, Hitler, Stalin, and Genghis Khan, all of whom were types of the Antichrist, look like child’s play. He will raise his fist, "speaking great things.... in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven" (Rev. 13:5-6). He will cause that as many as will not worship his image to be killed" (Rev. 13:15), and he will implement a series of policies that systematically degrade God-given civil liberties until “he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Rev. 13:16-17).
The symbols and rituals of the occult masters—the Masons, Illumninatists, Bilderbergers and Bohemians—combine to harmonize so completely with recent U.S. administration dialectics and policy changes as to be mathematically improbable of chance. They point, as does the Sibyl’s conjure, to a future time when the occultist’s meaning of the Angel in the Whirlwind, the rise of Imperial Luciferianism, and a “new breed of human” are made plain.
Something Whirlwind This Way Comes
“So when an angel by divine command, With rising tempests shakes a guilty land, Such as of late o’er pale Britannia past, Calm and serene he drives the furious blast; And, pleas’d th’ Almighty’s orders to perform, Rides in the whirlwind, and directs the storm.” --(Joseph Addison, 1705, The Campaign).

Despite a series of ever-changing explanations by the Bush administration as to why the U.S. rushed into war in the Middle East—even though there was no connection between Saddam Hussein and the events of September 11, 2001—years after the Iraq invasion, if you asked a room of 20 analysts to define what was the true nature behind America going into that war, you probably would receive 20 different answers.
Some say it was strategic placement of U.S. military resources against what the administration saw as a growing threat from Islamic radicals. Some say it was an effort to seize and maintain control of Iraqi oil reserves. Others contend that 9/11 was itself either a convenient or orchestrated event allowing the Bush administration to extend a global domination project. Still others believe something unusual connected to biblical sites in Babylon had been uncovered during Saddam Hussein’s reconstruction of the ancient city, and that the administration went there to capture it. Regardless of the answer, today it is widely recognized that the president was convinced that God had chosen him for a task, and that the Iraq invasion was part of a mission written in the clouds.
There is evidence that Bush’s true faith in his calling as the “chosen one” was an idea that grew on him over time. In the beginning, much of his ties to evangelical Christianity was squarely designed to produce political advantages. While still in his second term as governor, George W. actually hired influence peddler Karl Rove to help strategize how he might endear himself to the fundamentalist base in anticipation of a presidential run. Not long after, the highest-ranking members of the nation’s politically enthused church leaders were summoned to the governor’s mansion. There, the handpicked movers and shakers, most of them dominionists, all of them selected for their power to sway religious voters, were encouraged to conduct a “laying on of hands” to anoint the future president. As the executive mantle was vicariously conferred on George W., he evoked the prophetic commissions of the Hebrew prophets, telling the attendees that he had been "called" (by God) to become the presidential candidate.
Following that day and for a brief period afterward, the religious rhetoric surrounding Bush was no more unusual than the historiography of other American presidents.
Then something happened.
Following 9/11, the “calling” Bush believed he had received started defining itself in unsettling ways.
Author Bob Woodward noted in his book Bush at War that just three days after 9/11, the president during the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. seemed to assume a glorious role, as if suddenly he had found himself within a fantastic cosmic scheme, declaring that the nation’s responsibility to history was already clear: “to answer these attacks and rid the world of evil.”[1] By taking up the language of “good vs. evil,” Woodward viewed the president “casting his vision and that of the country in the grand vision of God’s master plan.”[2]
Almost immediately the dialect of Armageddon theology began surfacing in presidential briefings. Even religious publications were startled by it. Some reacted right away, calling on the president to plainly set out his views. Kevin Phillips in American Dynasty records how, “In March 2003, the editors of Christian Century insisted that ‘the American people have a right to know how the president’s faith is informing his public policies, not least his design on Iraq.’”[3] Phillips further stated, “More than Bush’s earlier religious phraseology, his Scripture-flavored preparation for war against Iraq—the latter-day Babylon of biblical notoriety—stirred scrutiny. Those who followed Bush’s religiosity had seen a change, in one pundit’s words, ‘from talking about a Wesleyan theology of ‘personal transformation’ to describing a Calvinist ‘divine plan’ laid out by a sovereign God for the country and himself.’”[4] So alarming was the president’s change in demeanor that even leaders of his own Methodist denomination registered dissent. Robin Lovin, Southern Methodist University professor of religion and political thought cautioned that “all sorts of warning signals ought to go off when a sense of personal chosen-ness and calling gets transplanted into a sense of calling and mission for a nation.”[5]
Ultimately the prophetic context for war in the very land associated with future Armageddon (and against Saddam Hussein, no less, the man who claimed to be the reincarnated Nebuchadnezzar) held for Bush the Manichaean language necessary to play out a “divine mission” while earning him admiration from Bonesmen, Dominionists and Neocons.
Perhaps more than to anyone else, it was precisely for these priestly members of “the family” (whom we shall study later) that the most startling coded language was drafted at regular cycle. The phrase “fire in the minds of men” from the second inaugural was both a call for societal upheaval to usher in a New World Order and, as recognized by Phillip Collins, the brilliant co-author of The Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship, a reference to the Promethean faith. “It [associated] the text of neoconservatism with the text of Promethean radicalism of earlier sociopolitical Utopian movements.”[6]
The clever observation by Collins that neoconservativism and Prometheanism can be married is keen, as both doctrines are occult visions of a kingdom of God (or gods) on earth established through human endeavor and enlightenment. Prometheus was the Greek Titan that stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. When Prometheus is incarnated in the human mind as the mystical longing for illumination, the latter produces what James H. Billington in his masterpiece, Fire In The Minds Of Men called the revolutionary faith, or “Promethean faith,” a Gnostic doctrine whose origin was solidified in occult Freemasonry and “scientific” Marxism.
Yet for our purposes, it was the first inaugural that held the Holy Grail of Bush’s belief system when twice he referred to the “angel in the whirlwind.” Referencing the Angel in the Whirlwind two times was important due to biblical and occult numerology. In this setting, the number “2” signified confirmation from God. “For God speaks once, yea twice” (Job 22:13); “In the mouth of two… witnesses” (2 Cor. 13:1), etc. In occult theology “2” is also the Zoroastrian math for dualism, and extended the Manichaean prose necessary for Bush to cast himself as the Son of Light at war with Sons of Darkness. For the Illuminatist, this light is derived from Lucifer, the light-bearer, and, as we shall discover, the Angel in the Whirlwind is central to such occult society.
Thus in our next article a closer look at the Angel in the Whirlwind will of itself be enlightening, and was, in view of recent history, a perfect choice for George W’s first inaugural. It unveiled for those who understood it at the time, the core of what researcher and academic Peter Dale Scott describes as "deep politics"—those below-surface realities that may for political reasons be hidden from the radar of civilians while at the same time signal brokers of power concerning the real or "deep" political and/or spiritual agenda. It may also explain why in spite of congressional resistance and public disapproval we are surging deeper into the Iraq quagmire and rattling our saber against Iran.

Schuller will remain as senior pastor of the Crystal Cathedral, though it was unknown whether he will continue to preach, a church spokesman told the Los Angeles Times. The elder Schuller said in the statement that he was bringing in guest pastors to preach during the show. Church officials did not return messages left Saturday seeking comment from Robert A. Schuller and details about what prompted the schism between him and his father.

The Real Exorcist premieres in a four-hour marathon on the Sci-Fi Channel on Thursday night - not coincidentally, it's Halloween eve. Mr. Larson admits it's an unusual combination of spirituality and entertainment, saying he can envision fans "throwing house parties with pizza and popcorn" while they watch him command demons to depart from tormented souls.
