Brace for 'New world order'

THE global financial crisis has called for a 'new world order', as venerable banks and financial houses have all but in the last six months, Education Minister and Second Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen said on Wednesday.
'That the global financial crisis has precipitated this calling for a new Order is stating the obvious. But the consequences of radical change to come in the ensuing transition and post-crisis Order can lead to a different world,' he said.
'We should be forewarned, alert and prepared. The effect on individual countries - including that on Singapore and Singaporeans - may not always be immediately apparent or easily projected.'
