I get a kick out of visiting the page dedicated to me at Wikipedia (or wicked-pedia as I like to call it). I'm not sure who is updating the content, but it certainly is not me. Therefore, here is my official biography.

My broadcasting career began many years ago while attending the University of Missouri. Somehow I talked Bill Weaver, the wonderful station manager at KFRU-AM in Columbia, into letting me host overnight, from 1-5AM. Amazingly, upon graduation, that job led me to accepting a position managing the newsroom at KCBJ-TV (now KMIZ-TV) also in Columbia. I was the nation's youngest television News Director with a promising future, but soon realized I was really more cut out to be in front of the camera, as opposed to behind the scenes.

My TV career expanded into specializing in weather and the environment and led to post-graduate studies in meteorology. Television allowed me to work and live in wonderful places like Reno, Pittsburgh, and eventually back to my beloved home state of California where I was the main weather guy at KNTV and KPIX. I was humbled to have received numerous Emmy Awards, Associated Press Awards and Radio and Television News Director's trophies for “Best Weathercast”. The National Education Associated also awarded me a distinguished service honor for elementary education. In addition to all this, for several years in the 1990s I was lucky enough to hold the post of “fill-in” weatherguy on the nationally broadcast CBS Morning Show with Harry Smith.

If I have a legacy in the world of media, hopefully it will be “Brian's Kids”. Over the course of 12 years we utilized the airwaves of KPIX to highlight foster children in need of adoption. Over 400 children were adopted as a result of “Brian's Kids”-- in fact my household expanded notably as a result of the program.

I left KPIX in 2001 after the adoption of our youngest son and launched several successful small businesses. In 2003 I was hired by KSFO radio in San Francisco to perform a two-hour evening talk show. In February of 2010 I was promoted to host the station's popular morning show.

Dr. Patrick Heron was born in Dublin in 1952. When he was 24 years old, he had a "Saul on the road to Damascus" type of epiphany while reading the Bible. Thus began his Christian walk. He became interested in bible prophecy concerning the "end times" about 1996.


In 1997, his first book Apocalypse Soon was published and became a bestseller in Ireland. It entered the Irish bestsellers list after an interview with Gareth O'Callaghan, on RTE radio, who said he "read it in one sitting and was gripped." Another book The Apocalypse Generation was also a success.

There has recently been amazing interest to-date in this new book The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse, published by Kensington Publishing, which Patrick believes is the FIRST EVER book proving overwhelmingly who built the pyramids and why.

Patrick has a B.Sc. and M.A. in Business Studies from Trinity College, Dublin.

He also holds a Degree in Theology and recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Literature from the California Pacific School of Theology, Glendale, California, as a result of the research done in his book, The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse (Kensington Publishing).

Dr. Heron is the Executive Producer of a TV special entitled Apocalypse and the End Times which is a Grizzly Adams production. This has been shown all over the United States and is currently available on DVD in stores nationwide.

Japan plans to build robot moon base by 2020

(PhysOrg.com) -- Believing that a moon base is essential for exploration of the solar system, Japan has recently announced plans to send humanoid robots to the moon to construct a robot lunar base. As part of the $2.2 billion project, the robots will begin surveying the moon around 2015, and then build the unmanned base near the moon’s South Pole by 2020.

Amityville Horror House For Sale (Anyone Dying To Buy It?)

The house made famous in the 1979 film The Amityville Horror is up for sale in New York - ghosts not included.

The five-bedroom Dutch Colonial went on the market yesterday for $1.15 million (£800,000).
In 1974, six members of the DeFeo family were shot dead as they slept in the house. The eldest son, Ronald DeFeo, called police to report the slayings. He was convicted of the murders aged 23.

When he confessed, he told detectives: 'Once I started, I just couldn’t stop. It went so fast.'

Captain Cajun To Obama

Democratic strategist and New Orleans resident James Carville is not relenting from his frenzied plea for President Obama to take a more direct and active role in addressing the Gulf oil blowout.

"The President of the United States could've come down here, he could've been involved with the families of these 11 people" who died on the rig after an explosion, Carville said on ABC's Good Morning America. "He could be commandeering tankers and making BP bring tankers in and clean this up. They could be deploying people to the coast right now. He could be with the Corps of Engineers and the Coast Guard...doing something about these regulations. These people are crying, they're begging for something down here, and it just looks like he's not involved in this."

The New York Times on the Credibility of The Fed

The Fed still has accepted almost no responsibility for its mistakes during the housing bubble. “Like other regulators, there were some things we could have done, at least with hindsight,” Ben Bernanke, the chairman, recently said. “But we had neither the mandate nor the tools to be the financial system’s supercop.”

Reading that, you might think that the bubble was evident only in retrospect and that, regardless, the Fed was powerless to stop it. That’s simply not the case. A fair number of people did recognize the bubble as it was inflating. The Fed’s leaders, by contrast, went out of their way to claim real estate was not in a bubble.

Imagine if Mr. Bernanke and Alan Greenspan had used their bully pulpit to point out how high house prices were relative to rents or incomes. Or imagine if they had cracked down on delusional mortgages, as their consumer protection powers gave them the authority to do — and as they finally did only after the bubble burst.

Despite the Fed’s failures, Congress is giving it vast new powers, largely because there is no better alternative. Most important, the Fed will decide how much debt banks can take on, a standard that will help determine how well they weather the next crisis. Yet neither the Fed’s leaders nor President Obama, who reappointed Mr. Bernanke, has explained why we should believe the Fed has learned from its errors.

Congress can do better. The Senate bill calls for an audit of the Fed’s actions during the crisis (which were, in fact, pretty heroic). Why not expand the time frame to the run-up to the crisis? The Senate would also create an independent unit inside Treasury, the Office of Financial Research, that could identify problems even if the Fed did not.

The more checks and balances on the Fed, the better the odds of avoiding another crisis. Fool me once, right?

California Budget And Housing Are Interlinked

On Friday the Governor gave a grim overview of the problems faced by California. The California budget is facing a $19.1 billion short fall ensuring a long and drawn out summer of politics and financial hocus pocus. The Governor even made a brief comparison to Greece for all of those who can’t connect the dots and figure out that having too much debt is a bad thing. Too much debt is what built the California housing bubble. Alt-A and option ARMs still languish out in the market. Even the boogeyman of toxic loans is being dwarfed by the problems in prime mortgages. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac keep issuing quarterly losses and going back to the government well.

More Than 4 Million Families Face Foreclosure

NEW YORK, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Data published by ForeclosureListings.com comparing February 2010 to January 2010 shows that Texas has witnessed the highest increase in foreclosures with a rise of 35.3%, followed by Michigan at 17.54%, California at 11.93%, and Florida at 4.71% increases. Georgia actually showed a decrease of 5.55% and Arkansas showed the largest drop in foreclosures down 28.6%.

The nation is struggling with a lack of jobs and continued pressure on home values leaving many homeowners with mortgages higher than their homes' value. Several states are creating emergency funds to help the temporarily unemployed from being foreclosed upon. But the numbers continue to paint a bleak picture.

Even with additional funds from the government there are too many people facing unemployment and weak housing values to enable many to borrow the necessary amount to prevent foreclosure or to purchase a home in foreclosure.
